• Not a problem.  All you have to do is let us know what type of computer you want or what you plan to do with it.  Do want a file server for your office?  Just tell us that.  A web server?  A computer to play lots of games?  Video editing?  Just getting email and browsing the internet?  A workstation for your business or home office?  Extreme overclocking?  That's all you need to tell us and we will provide you with a configuration and estimate to meet your needs.

Why get a custom computer and not just buy a pre-manufactured computer?

• A custom computer from TailoredPC is a much better value than a pre-manufactured computer.  Of course, a custom computer from us is tailored to your needs and wants -- nothing missing and nothing extra you could care less to have.  In addition, we don't fill your computer with a bunch of useless trial software trying to get you to buy it -- we only install what you specify and some of the basics.



• Even if you want absolutely nothing installed, we can provide you with a system.  Ever try to get a computer with no operating system or additional software from one of those "other" computer manufacturers?  They claim you can "customize" the systems they offer, but your choices are limited and they won't sell you a computer with no system in place to allow you to install your own -- such as a Novell Network or Linux system.  Those companies have tied their hands by entering into agreements with software manufacturers that require them to sell you a specific operating system and particular software -- whether you want it or not.  But, TailoredPC has no limitations -- want a system with a blank hard drive that you can install and configure yourself?  No problem.



• Our computers are optimized to work as efficiently and fast as possible by selecting the appropriate hardware components.  For example, many computer manufacturers install memory that is slower than the processor and maximum speed of the motherboard, hurting overall system performance.  Some manufacturers, for instance, couple AMD 400MHz front side bus (FSB) processors (such as the Athlon XP 3200+) with 333MHz (PC2700) RAM, creating a bottleneck in the system, but making the consumer believe they are getting the full power out of the processor.  Yet, many AMD processors, especially the 32-bit processors, function best when the processor's FSB matches the RAM speed.  TailoredPC ensures that the speed of the memory is optimized to match the processor and motherboard capabilities, so you know you are getting the most out of your system.
  
  
• Our computers are also designed to be a longer term investment than a pre-manufactured computer.  A lot of computer manufacturers use proprietary components that cannot be replaced when they get out of date.  But, our computers use standard components so that upgrades can usually be made to your existing computer instead of having to replace the entire system, resulting in long-term savings to the customer.  For example, if your computer becomes too slow for new software in a few years, we can often replace just the CPU or the CPU and motherboard to bring the computer up to date -- the hard drives, CD drives, and DVD drives can typically still be used.  But, even those components can be replaced if you decide a newer one has come out you would rather have.



• Today, you are lucky if a pre-manufactured computer you buy lasts you 3 years before becoming too obsolete to be useful.  In most cases, 2 years is pushing it.  Then, you are tossing out your computer and spending your money on an entire new system.  But, with a TailoredPC computer, you can simply make necessary upgrades.  In almost all cases we can provide a custom computer for you for less money than a comparable pre-manufactured system or so-called "customized" system from leading manufacturers.  So, you not only save money in the long run, you spend less from the start.  A custom computer from TailoredPC is a great investment.
